Another endangered IUCN species from Borneo - the Orangutan.

Although I visit this island annually, this was the only time that I was given a clear view of one in a nest.

The sun has just begun setting and this individual was getting ready to settle down for the night. He gave us a quick glance before sinking into his comfortable nest.

I have cropped in a bit more than usual to show his expression. D810, 500mm+1.4tc, ISO 3200, 1/500th, f8.
Regards,

Des

This makes me smile. Definitely a hallmark card! What a shot -- as if he is saying ok you can take one pic.

What a treat to see and capture this behavior. They are so expressive- to see the face so clearly really makes the image.
