During the winter months the meadows of Kanha National Park, India changes colour and the reddish hues of the short grass combines with the greens of the taller ones to give an ethereal feeling to the land where Kipling's Mowgli used to roam with Bagheera and Balu while Sher Khan prowled. Here a Chital doe looks back apprehensively, wary of the striped cat while a Jungle Myna pecks without a care in the world on her head.

I loved Kipling's Jungle Book stories when I was a child Pralay!

A sweet image, no self respecting Deer should be seen without a bird on the head.  8)
