I spent a few days at T. Roosevelt NP last week and with the temps in the high 90's and one day of 100 the best time for the animals was before sunrise. This bull bison was just making his way to spend the rest of his day in a nice cool spot. Luckily he paused just long enough for me to get a few twilight images.

The thought of all that bulk in a fur coat in such hot weather!  These big boys must find it hard going in the summer John - and then they have the cold winters to cope with.  Not much fun being a bison, is it.  :)

This one looks well groomed and turned out looking his best for the photo, and the background vista gives a lovely sense of the vastness of the landscape.
