Triplets in Fireweed

Canon 7DmkII, 100-400, iso1600, 1/500, handheld from skiff, cropped
Geographic Harbor, Katmai AK
We hoped at some point we'd get an opportunity to include the fireweed  with some bears.  We caught up to Mama and her year-old triplets walking the shoreline heading to the river to fish, and when they walked through the patch of fireweed and stopped we got our chance.
Yes I wish that all the eyes were clear of grasses but out of a dozen or so frames when they all popped up this was the most distraction-free. 
This was one very good, experienced mama bear.

She has certainly got her work cut out keeping an eye on these three! It must have been great to see triplets in their natural habitat, and the wildflowers add a nice touch of colour to the scene.
