Geographic Harbor, Katmai AK We hoped at some point we'd get an opportunity to include the fireweed with some bears. We caught up to Mama and her year-old triplets walking the shoreline heading to the river to fish, and when they walked through the patch of fireweed and stopped we got our chance. Yes I wish that all the eyes were clear of grasses but out of a dozen or so frames when they all popped up this was the most distraction-free. This was one very good, experienced mama bear.
