The tidal flats turn silver in the bright overcast light, helping to set the bears off from the background.

I like that you caught the bear in mid stride with the leg and feet position giving an excellent feel of movement.  The silvery setting is a nice foil for the fur colour.

Yes the bear really jumps off the silver-gray background, one case where that kind of water works very well. I like the pose captured with all 4 paws well separated and mid-stride, and the bear's attention clearly focused on the task at hand.
