I found an animal today which has eluded me for a long time. For more than six years I have hiked off trail along the hills of Morgan, Monroe, and Brown County in southern Indiana, hoping to come across a Hoosier timber rattlesnake in the wild. I am thrilled to be able to cross this off my bucket list!

Great shot! Congrats on the find! What a beauty! Kind of like seeing my first copperheads after many years of hiking in habitat.

Any special processing to darken the perimeter area?

Nice shot of a real beauty - love shooting snakes - getting good shots of Rattlers always makes the shooting a little exicting

John come down to Upper Texas Coast - there are lots of those here - When doing habitat work - the only worry I have about Copperheads is they are so docile and blend in so well with their habitat and I'm afraid I might pick one up by mistake - I have come within inches of doing this at least twice. Rattlesnakes and Moccasins are much better about telling you when you are too close

Congrats on finding your target subject. As a matter of taste I find the strong vignetting to be overpowering though.
