Sea Otters Fighting

These are same two otters in my previous post. The one with the light head has a heavy coating of oil all over its back. The dark one seemed to be the aggressor and I wonder if there wasn't something about the oil on the other that made him so angry

Certainly not the usual docile behaviour we have come to expect from these beautiful creatures Richard! The oil coating must make it difficult for others to identify their familiar scent and will most likely cause scenes of rejection like this one.

Certainly means business.
Nice action shot. Love the teeth.
Perhaps just a territorial dispute; the "oiled" Otter weakened by the coating now being taken advantage of.
