Eelephant herd behaviour

There were alarm calls from Hog deer nearby.... the forest resounded with their sharp cries.... the big striped cat was on the move..... every creature including the mighty jumbo had to be on guard.... this herd was crossing the forest path but as soon as the alarms went off, they formed into a protecting formation to deter the mighty predator... Kaziranga, India

A perfect illustration of their classic protective behaviour Pralay! I have seen this several times with the African Elephants when they know lions are hunting close by. A fine image of this family group - and I like that you have included the surrounding landscape which gives a real sense of the habitat, rather than having just a blurred background. I like this a lot. Well done!
