Hi all, I haven't posted an image in this section for quite some time, although i love looking at them.Mainly because my primary focus is on birds. However, i recently joined a friend who is a real whale lover. We had the opportunity to follow a small group of transient Killer whales off of the south tip of Vancouver Island,B.C. The group was very playful and we had several chances with this large male breaching. I zoomed out on this one to include the mountains of the olympic range in Washington.
Thanks

You certainly made a wise choice to include that background vista Michael, the wider view of the mountains adds so much to the capture of the breaching orca. This playful pod must have been amazing to watch!

The inclusion of the landscape behind adds a lot to this image. You sure captured a good position on him as well. Very nice.

This is lovely, Michael.

Great timing and an excellent animal shot in its environment.

Thanks for posting.

Outstanding shot -- the mountains add a lot. I might be tempted to add a touch more shadow contrast to accentuate them a bit.

Great shot Mike. I'll be heading out there soon for Puffins in my boat. I usually run into the Orca's about 1 in 10 trips.

Sensational....a most meaningful image of an Orca that I have ever seen ! This should go on the cover of some travel magazine.

Congrats on the EP, very well deserved ! This could win in some competition, you never know... :-)
