Here's an early evening photo from my trip to Masai Mara Last November.  Canon EOS 5D III, EF 500/4, f/5.6, 1/500, ISO 1600.

As per recommendations I desaturated this a bit.

That's just dynamite. Nice perspective.

Beautiful shot, and way too cute. It's pretty funny that the cubs are very alert while frazzled mum snoozes.

Love the cute young animal story connection here. We KNOW why the mama lion needs a nap! :D

Bob, this is a wonderful nature story. I would have been squealing with excitement if I witnessed that!

The eye contact from the cubs peering over their sleeping mama makes the shot.

A shame that mother's body is cut off in an awkward spot but the eye contact with the cubs is sweet!

Very nice, the kittens of course make the shot. I like the crop as-is: the kittens make the photo, and they're nicely centered in the frame. If the mother's tail end was included it wouldn't really add to the photo, and it would off-center the kittens. No shame here - nicely done!

Very cute Bob.
Saturation on the greens and yellows seems a bit overcooked?

Very cute. I agree that (especially) the greens look very over saturated, to the point that they're actually overpowering the lions. Definitively worth giving the processing a second try.

Sorry I didn't do a better job processing this. It was one of my favorites of probably my last trip to Kenya. I'm pleased that some people did enjoy it. Thank you to all that viewed it.
