Hi Folks
Another beauty from a neighboring island to Malapascua, called Gato (Cat) Island, thought the Spanish sailor who named this hundreds of years ago must have been pretty juiced up on something to have seen a cat's head on that hunk of rock. The underwater wonders though are gorgeous! This is an ornate (or harlequin) ghost pipefish, Solenostomus paradoxus, a member of the seahorse family, the larger of the 2 is the male and it is carry a full belly of eggs. The larger animal is about 2" long. Canon EOS 5dmk3, Aquatica A5dmk3 Housing, Sigma 15mm FE lens with Kenko Pro 1.4 Teleconverter, Dual S&S YS-D1 strobes on quarter (or less) power. ISO 100, 1/160th, f14. p.s. I don't know why the formatting tags are showing up, just using the built in text editor. |
