When you're out at night in Africa it pays to be aware of what may be lurking around in the bush....or overhead!  Our last Zambia trip proved a real eye-opener in that respect and it can be a bit disconcerting when you pass under these trees in an open topped jeep.........

African Lions relaxing in the trees just after sunset before they set out on their hunt.

Lower Zambezi, Zambia.

:D  love it!  where would we be without a laugh!  The most frightening thing that dropped into our jeep was the BIGGEST Spider I have ever seen, and that freaked me out more than the Lions ever did!!!...............

Hi

A beautiful shot Carol - I like it, although I'd rather have that big spider dropping in than a lion; obviously a personal taste issue (LOL)

All the best
Matthew

You're mad!  :D   I'm talking about a Baboon Spider, a Tarantula - with a body of around 3 inches....and then there's the legs.....

Obviously not the type of tree that I would choose to hide from Lions ! Love the mysterious darkness and wide perspective in the scene, Carol !

Love it Carol! The hint of sunset glow in the sky, and the subtle light on the cats, makes a very moody and intriguing combination.
The only thing we had drop in to a vehicle on my last TZ trip was a Vervet Monkey!

Wow! I don't think my tin foil cap would protect me from those cats! Cool scene.
