Last winter in Yellowstone early morning after a night of heavy snowfall we found this bull bison buried by snow.

The "Great White Buffalo"! I can't imagine how it would feel to only have your eyes and horns clear of snow! Bet it was cold for you too.

Neat shot. Almost looks like he's playing peak-a-boo with you. Really captures the extremes of the winter that these animals survive in up there.

The blanket of snow would give him some protection from the cold, but rather him than me. Interesting image of the harsh conditions wildlife faces in the winter!

Hi

I think this is an excellent documentary type shot that also hold great appeal - for my tastes I would probably have preferred a wider view, but that's subjective and this works a treat

All the best

Hey Terry,

My snowcoach driver thought it was the best snowy bison he'd ever seen in his 23 years in the park.  Thanks!

This is quite a powerful image and tells such a great story of the harsh conditions these great creatures endure.
