Few experiences in nature are more thrilling than being with a pack of Painted Dogs (African Wild Dogs) on foot in Mana Pools! This photo was taken on the Wild Eye photo safari I hosted in August last year. We were searching for the Vundu pack every day as they liked to hunt in the vicinity of our camp but we lucked out narrowly on every day until our last morning of the safari. This was one of four kills they had made in quick succession, and we were able to crouch down and watch them devour it with fervour.
I can't wait to take back another group of photographers to this piece of Eden in October this year! Techs: Nikon D3s Nikkor 500mm f4 VR-II f5.6 | 1/800 SS | ISO-900 Morkel Erasmus
