Lovely capture, beautiful in b/w. The snow and steamy bison breath convey the sense of cold very well.

Missy - lots to like about the pose and composition - nicely done! One observation - I feel the b&w conversion is a little flat. Each to their own of course, esp. with b&w, but I'd personally like to see a little more contrast. If you've not investigated specific b&w filters, I find SilverEfex (Nik/Google) to be particularly good, offering plenty of tuning options.

Thanks for sharing.

A very evocative study Missy, to me it says 'melancholy'.

I feel it would benefit from a touch more contrast to give a little punch to the black and white, Martin makes a good point IMO.  I love the image, although for me, it doesn't quite go far enough - but maybe you wanted a softer approach?  8)

Lovely pose and steam. Nice detail in the face. Making the snow brighter would make it pop more. As said the contrast looks muddy now.

Fine pose and composition, and I like the way this takes on a very cold, wintry feel with the b/w conversion. I agree with the suggestions made about contrast.
