I was photographing winter finches etc. from my home set up in a blind when this inquisitive fellow came along, maybe it was the big hunk of suet that interested him. He did not seem to bothered by the blind or my scent, lucky for me.

Nikon D7100, Nikkor 300 2.8 VR II, Tripod in blind.

f/8 @ 1/1000 sec . ISO-500.

Thank you for viewing.

I would say that this is the best fox image I have seen! Not only is it tack sharp with perfect exposure but the stare is out of this world. Great work Robert.

Hello Robert

great to see a beautiful and well defined fox. Your selection to head area sharpness has a powerful feel to this capture ! And an early Christmas gift !

Beautiful selective focus to bring out such sweet detail in that wonderfully expressive face Rob! While my composition eye tells me I would like more room at the bottom for its feet, I can't help loving the image. A beauty!

Lovely, good looking fox with a good pose and expression. I love the snow flying around the feet and sticking to the muzzle and sides too. Gorgeous image.

Outstanding environmental image my friend. Technically the sharpness the use of selective focus the great low angle. The stare, the action of its motion walking into the frame. You nailed it! One of the best I've seen of this species. Very well done
