This was my favorite buck of the trip with his perfectly symmetrical polished rack.

Bob: That body may look like a Whitetail deer but those antlers belong on a Mule deer. Looks like a cross between the 2. hcarl

Very nice. Never seen a Whitetail deer with that many split tines. Its does resemble a Muleys antlers but I think its a Whitetail. Very cool either way.

I had a view of Bob's site and under Whitetail Deer there are more images of the same buck. It certainly has all the characteristics of a Whitetail from the ears all the way back to the tail but those antlers except for their height sure do have the characteristics of a Mule Deer. Very interesting and a excellent image along with many more on his site. hcarl

Excellent image, I really like the composition. I shoot lots of whitetails and immediately recognized this as a fantastic Whitetail buck, until I looked at the antlers, Anlters are shaped like a whitetail with the exception of the "forks". It would be interesting to know the genetics on this nice buck! Image was very well done!
