Bobcats love to hunt in meadows and pastures. This cat charged a number of squirrels down this old fenceline. The lucky squirrel (or smart squirrel) is on the other side of the fence with some kind of pig wire at the bottom of it. After missing a squirrel on this side, it went through the fence after this guy. Photographed in the central California foothills. I had 13 bobcat encounters yesterday (Nov 18) for a total of 99 cats so far in 2014 - with six bobcat safaris left before the end of the year.
Nikon D3s, 500mm f4 lens, ISO 800, 1/2000 at f5.6. Window rest. Raw converted to JPG in CS6. Brent Russell Paull // American West Photo Safaris
