Photographed a little more than a week ago, this buck was exhibiting some pre-rut behavior. While distracted by nearby females, it was not the frenzied behavior I tried to photograph on the weekend.

Beautiful image, Bruce. I really like the soft yet directional light which helps preserve all the details while simultaneously providing some extra contrast. The composition is excellent with the tree in the background taking up the extra space. The way the tree mimics the antlers of the buck is really great. Colors and processing are right on and natural. Well done!

The fog really adds to the shot. Nice regal pose.

A fine image Bruce, a real beauty! Such sweet detail on the buck, and lovely pose. The soft misty background pastel palette makes the perfect setting and the composition is so well balanced with the tree 'antlers' providing the ideal foil for the buck's own crown. Superb!

Fine shot of a very private animal whose expression reveals his edgy nod at being this exposed.
