My first chance to photograph river otters and wouldn't you know the light was lousy.

As you say Richard, the light wasn't good but seeing this many otters together must have been a real thrill! Such fascinating creatures and a sweet capture of their interaction here.

They're such a fun subject, and to see so many for your first sighting is a real treat. The light may have been lousy, but this is a good start to your otter photography. ;) We struck out on this family when we were down there last month.
