Yesterday's bobcat was photographed on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley, while this image was shot on the east side of the valley, close by Sequoia NP.  All it takes is rolling oak woodlands, grass is optional in our drought this year - but this large male bobcat seems to be eating good.  Oh, and thanks to him for climbing up on the rocks to make this other than a field bobcat - which I'm happy to shoot, but this is more interesting.

Someone in Canada named Steve referred the Italian Tour Leader to me, who then booked me for this 6 day bobcat tour-de-force.  I would like to thank him whoever he is.

Nikon D3s body, 500mm f4 lens, ISO 640, 1/500 second at f4, -1/3 eV, raw converted to jpg in CS6.

The movement up on to the rocks and the teeth exposed make this a nice dramatic image.

Outstanding pose, and attractive surroundings too -- a beauty.

Handsome cat in a lovely setting - the colour combination of copper and silver in the leaves and rocks makes this image for me!
