Last week I posted an image of the final seconds of a Wildebeest's life. This was the action that led to it's demise. The young lioness was crouching in scrub leading to the Talek River on the Mara. One of the stragglers did not make the crossing.

Canon EOS 5D, 100-400mm lens at 210mm, f11, 1/320, iso 400, beanbag.

Cheers and thanks for previous comments

Great image from last week and this one is equally great and dramatic, Graeme.

Great action Graeme -- it's amazing to me that the cat can get to the throat like this without being injured herself.

Outstanding action image.  You must have been pretty close judging by your focal length.  Just seeing this action must have been special but to capture such a great image with all that's going on so close to you is tremendous.  Well done!

Lovely perspective of the deciding moment here!
The saturation and colours look a bit overcooked here to me.
Would make a nice monochrome too - process the lion and wildebeest on different layers to emphasise different tonalities.
