Wading into the freezing waters of the temperate Rain Forest in  Northern British Columbia , Canada

Springtime has arrived with melting snow still present on the Mountain ridges and the snow melt is constantly flowing into the estuary. This estuary is about 25 miles south of Alaska Mountains and  25 miles inland from the Pacific Coastline .
Seen here at lower tide this female grizzly is keen to see the coming of large male grizzlies.  Breeding season now  here,  and the Males are quite aggressive in seeking out their mating partners before another male appears.

She looks frozen in motion here  as she extends her safety and  prepares for swimming to  off shore islands at lower tide.

D700,  taken @ 200mm vr on normal, @ F5.6, 1/320 speed, ISO 500, -.67 Meter Compensation, Hand held while floating with the tide in a Zodiac boat,
Raining Constantly, Overcast  around 12noon local time,

Larger version shows excellent details

Comments and Critique are very welcome & Appreciated.

Excellent pose Bill, in the smaller version I thought the background was a bit too dark but looking at the larger version I think it works well and really sets her off.

This female is nicely captured in the motion. Nice composition, showing the habitat, Bill.

Beautifully captured and processed Bill -- nice contrast of the grizzly against the darker environment.

Bill, another fantastic grizzly image. I love the way you enhance the bear while making the background less obvious. A well deserved EP! Congrats!

Hello, GREAT to see the Comments and Critiques !!

Really Appreciate them Very Much.

My last post for awhile, now off to a very remote area for  a Photo Adventure ,  No Communications are available  there !!:)  A Region within Northern Canada,.. So remote and pristine, wild, and extremely dark this time of year  !   The Great-Bear-Rainforest  is so remote that its one of the few remaining inhabitable  parts of the world  that is completely black  at night on Satellite Images!

This is a lovely frame, Bill! I like the darker feel here.
