At the Maasai Mara, Kenya at the very end of the migration season with only a few stragglers coming through. The big cats had to work a bit harder for their meals and laid ambushes in the scrubby bushes near the Talek River.

This was a two cat ambush, a young female and a young male. The female was deadly serious....the male thought the Wildebeest might want a dance before dinner. These are the final seconds of the doomed 'Beest.

A very strong and powerful image of the survival of the fittest. The classic big cat coup de grace captured extremely well and superbly detailed without resorting to overtly displaying the totally natural but gory aftermath. Your excellent shot says it all Graeme. Well done!

Dramatic moment well caught! Just back from the Mara Triangle and it's such a spectacle. We saw 4 successful big cat kills start to finish and a further 3 unsuccessful hunts.
