A little more light on the blocked up dark eye area would be better for me, but the intensity of the gaze is captured well.

Tried lightening up but is getting blown out.... probably my ineptness at post-processing :(

The previous comments have covered my problem. The eye area which is the essence of the photo is too dark. The background is good and clean but seems to be quite grainy.
