WOLF

Converted to BW.

Alpha male looking over his pack . Was shooting between trees and used the trees to frame this good looking guy. Some cropping.

Northern BC Canada in springtime , still showing his thick winter coat.

D700, 400mm VR on normal, 1/320, ISO 320, in a blind with tripod mount, cropped about 60%.

Comments and critiques appreciated

He is gorgeous. The b&w treatment is effective, and I like that the foreground elements are dark and completely out of focus.

Pity about the head of the other wolf in the bottom of the picture but that's wildlife shooting.

Hey Bill! A nice black/white treatment here, I dig it. I really like the framing with the wolf in between the trees. As mentioned, it's a shame about the other guys ear in this otherwise fine image. Was this a wild wolf?

What a great portrait of this magnificent animal. The B and W works well here and the stray ear does no bother me.
