I had previously posted a wide angle shot of a tortoise so I thought I would add a close up. This is a wild tortoise photographed on a private ranch on Santa Cruz Island. There were several basking in a small, plant covered lake there.

I haven't yet seen the wide angle image but I really like this close up. Great composition!

What a cool shot... This is such an interesting composition with the turtle half in and half out of the water. In addition, the wary eye and crud all around makes this such a fun picture to study.

regards,
bruce

Nice close-up Nate. I like the comp and close crop. The pond scum adds an interesting color and texture. Very cool!

Great perspective in this quite unique view Nate! Got to love the head detail and that prehistoric face.

Truly a prehistoric look to this fellow. I like the composition and the square crop.
