Canon 7D, Canon 300 f2.8is I, f8, 1/320. ISO 640, Tripod

Please view in shadowbox.

A shot from a few years ago.  This young bull approached cautiously just after sunrise.  It seemed so sweet and curious.

Think I might be getting moose fever... been over a year now since I have been up to Northern Maine.

I shot this with a 300 f2.8is Version 1 which happens to be the only piece of gear that I sold and completely regretted.  I sold it to fund a 500, and I quickly realized that I missed the image quality and versatility (for me) of the more portable 300.  In fact, I regretted it so much that I ended up selling the 500 to purchase another 300 2.8, this time the Version II.  Love it.

This shows off beautifully when you click to bring in the darker surround. I love those little antler buds, more like the handles on a small child's scooter! Nice content in the composition, good eye level view and that light is so sweet. Fine image Chris!

The shadowbox really does make this pop. I like your composition, the rocks in the background provide a good balancing element to the moose.

Nice shot in great light. I also sold my 300 for the same reasons....and I am in accord with your thoughts.

The 300is (both versions) is such an incredible lens. What will you do?
