Portrait :

Young Female Grizzly,  Soaking Wet from the Rain & wet grasses she is foraging on.

Northern British Columbia , Very close to  Alaska Mountains to the north. Taken in Springtime , soon after emerging from her winter dormancy period.

The valley ( A Temperate Rainforest ) is ripe with fresh grasses growing very quickly and being consumed by this hungry bear. Snow covered mountains are visible and the melting flow of snow into the estuary waters is constantly evident 24/7 this time of year.

Taken with 70-200 @ 200mm F2.8 VR on Normal, Full Frame with No Crop, @ F5.6, 1/200, ISO 250, Hand Held & very close while drifting with the Tide in a Zodiac boat. -.67 Meter compensation,

Comments and Critique are Appreciated!

Thanks for looking :)

Wow you were close, super shot Bill, just enough eye contact and the grass in the mouth adds a lot!

I really like the tight perspective here with just enough negative space to let you know where it lives.\
Nice work,

Indeed that was close. Lovely detail, the eye contact is important here so her head turn is just right. I might take a smidge off the right, personal taste to get the face out of the center of the image.

What makes this for me is that look in her eye Bill! Lovely image with exquisite detail - and a look that speaks volumes!
