Spending time with a Black Rhino cow and her calf is always special, as she would invariably be very alert and skittish. We were parked at a waterhole late one stormy afternoon when these two emerged from the thickets, silent as ghosts, and proceeded to quench their thirst as we quietly observed.

All rhino images need to be cherished in light of the current situation, and this one speaks volumes Morkel,
love the low POV and eye contact on this pair.

I love the way both Rhino and Elephant can move so silently considering their bulk, your description is spot on for the way they can suddenly appear from nowhere!

I really like the composition and your choice of processing here. The two rhinos looking off in the same direction suggest a bit of tension in the moment. Furthermore, the tree in the background frames and isolates this pair so very nicely.

regards,
bruce
