Grizzly Mother and Yearling cub .

Northern British Columbia Canada  , very close to Alaska . Alaska mountains can be seen about 25 miles to the north.

This female bear had with her twin yearling cubs  , only one visible here.
Mother bear was very aware of any intruders and kept a vigil look that was being shared with this cub. The cubs learn quickly from the mature bear  to be on the look out for large male bears roaming the Valley. The cubs may winter with her up to 3-4 seasons  before venturing on their own.
Seen here in the grasses where they would get their fill and needed protein to replenish themselves  from the cold winter dormancy period which they recently emerged from.
D700, Lens @ 210 mm vr on normal, F5, ISO 800, hand held while floating with the tide in a zodiac boat, -.67 meter compensation

A touch more room at the bottom would be better, but love the opposing book-end poses of sow and cub!
