Another shot from the July 25th Sequoia NP safari. This sow cinnamon black bear is ripping into another white pine trunk looking for ant larva, her cubs sitting nearby watching her intently.   ISO 3200, f4 at 1/500, Nikon D3s, 500mm f4 lens, Indura Tripod, raw converted to jpg in CS6.

Bears doing bear stuff - the best kind of wildlife photography.

Great behavior shot --- the fragments of bark flying in the sunlight convey the action well. I would be inclined to try a little shadow highlight adjustment. An unusual capture!

Interesting behavior, the backlit raining bits of tree just tell the whole story. I would probably process this a bit differently with less contrast and saturation, but to a degree that's a matter of taste.
