A female Indian leopard (Panthera pardus fusca) in Satpura National Park. In this park leopards are not used to the presence of humans, and vanish at the slightest sight or sound. We were lucky to sight and shoot this girl while she was on a tree.
Shot in bad light from far away. Negative EV to get the feel, as well as selective dodging and burning. P.S. This park is beautiful, and somewhat undiscovered. One can stay inside the forest in 100+ year old forest rest houses, where one hears alarm calls throughout the night and sees pug marks of big cats in the morning near the rest house. I had to offroad (in a 4wd SUV) for 40 kilometres to reach the forest rest house. Nilanjan Ray | www.nilanjanray.in
