Wild and Wet Grizzly Bear

Dripping  water , streaming from the soaked fur as this large male bear ascends from the salty water . His well defined muscles are very evident , showing his powerful stature .He is focused on a young female who has recently shown signs of accepting this guy as a breeding partner. The muddy embankment with its rich chocolate colouring has recently been exposed  from the receding tide, as the water winds its way back into the Pacific. Dark conditions with heavy overcast skies filled with rain during this encounter. I am at a low perspective, kneeling while hand held,   floating with the tide in a zodiac boat .   The RIM lighting, taken at High-Noon separates him from the background nicely.

His grunting and snorting can be heard  giving a Hair-Standing  encounter!!

Dynamic image, great pose with the implied movement and the water dripping off him. Lovely setting with the forest background.

:) I love the way you write. The photograph is lovely too, well worth your efforts. The well defined muscles really get emphasized here, love the shades of green in the scene. If it were mine, I would have cropped the water out at the bottom, but it is a beautiful pic.

The wider view adds a lot, giving us a feel for the habitat. Dramatic light and the soaked fur shows the bear's muscle tone well, and the cascading water as he climbs the bank is the icing on the cake. Really nice image Bill!
