Hog-nosed Pit Viper (Costa Rica)

In a recent visti to the Costa Rican lowlands we found this beautiful snake. We placed it over this mossy log and made a few images, we used diffused light so we did not hurt the snake´s eyes. 
This is a relatively common snake specie and can be found along trails and is active at night as well as during the day.

Beautiful use of flash here, Juan. Though common, I still love the find. I've never seen one.
