A chameleon crosses a hill road near Pachmarhi, a hill station in Central India.

Saw this guy as I was driving down a hill road, passing through a forest stretch. Stopped the car, jumped out, and managed to shoot him before he vanished into the undergrowth. Getting down on the road involved some scraped elbows :-) He had a disgusted look on his face. Perhaps fought with wife and decided to temporarily shift to the other side of the road.

Love the look of disdain here, great colour with good DOF, shame about the cropped tail, is this F/F?

Thanks. This was shot with a Nikon D7100 + 70-300VR. Went close slowly, lay down on the ground and took the shots.

Have a few more that have different perspectives.

I like the head and 1 foot in focus, I just wonder why he wasn't the colors of the road.

The road was narrow and empty, and the forest was green on both sides. Maybe he didn't bother to cross the road stretch? Anyway, I am glad that he didn't, because otherwise the colour would have been boring :-)

They always look grumpy to me, I've never seen one smile! Nice shot with good use of selective focus.

I really like that you caught this pose with the opposing feet raised. They have such a funny walking gait, at least the species I've seen, rocking back and forth before they move, and this photo reminds me of watching that. Fun capture!
