From Velvet to the Rut

Though he is still in velvet, this summer muley will have a good sized rack when it  becomes polished and sharp and ready for the rut.  Photographed July 19, 2014 in Sequoia National Park.  Nikon D3s body, 500mm f4 lens, ISO 800, 1/250 at f4, -1/3 eV, Indura tripod.  Raw processed to jpg in CS6.  And those floating light spots around the rack are mosquitoes.

Really interesting composition with nice eye contact. The mosquitoes look fierce!

I like the diagonal aspect to this composition- something a little different for this subject.
