This was taken 3 km inside the core area of Kanha National Park, India. I was staying at a tourist lodge inside the park. I was waiting for the safari vehicle to come, when a troupe of langurs came close and started fooling around. This small fella was a pretty active and interesting character.

The light is nice and warm in the photo, because these langurs were in the shade of big Sal trees.

Shot in June 2014. Peak summer.

The infant is the little star of the show, I love the pose. I just wish the face of the adult wasn't hidden quite so much but I do like the soft light and colour tone - it has a timeless quality, the image could have been taken today or many years ago! Sweet.
