Did you consider a vertical framing to accentuate the high trees?

Morkel's suggestion would make a nice alternative view but I really like your image as it is - it shows how well these magnificent creatures blend in with their natural environment!

Would a gloomier look - e.g. darker, desaturated - have been better? I am thinking of processing a similar photo from the same series.
