This is perhaps the most common squirrel specie in Costa Rica but I liked how I found this one in the rain forest in the northern plains. This squirrel decided to rest on a ´´monkey ladder vine´´´.

For this one I used

1D MarkIV
300f/4
Natural light
Almost full frame
Hand held.

Many thanks for looking.

A fine composition with that vine? making such a nice wavy diagonal through the frame, and I love the position of the squirrel sitting so comfortably in the curve. Nice use of selective focus to present a clear view of its alert expression and bright eyes in the soft light.

Lovely image!

Many thanks Carol, yes I forgot to mention that I found this squirrel sitting on that ´´monkey ladder´´ vine. Cheers.

That vine is so interesting, with the squirrel perfectly placed to show how useful it is to the forest dwellers. Sweet pose.

Love the perch.  The image looked dark in the thumbnail, but just right when I opened the larger version.  Thanks for posting. Dave

Appreciate your comments David and yes, the image is dark but I just wanted to share the habitat inside the rain forest as seen here. Good use of flash can save the day in the tropics :)
