Musk Ox Under Snow

This image was taken just as the snow storm was dying down. I had been photographing this small group first thing in the morning when the storm began as they were only resting about 1.5km (less than a mile) from my tent.

I have just finished a short blog charting my recent, hard but enjoyable, trip to Norway in search of this iconic subject. You can see more images here or on my recent FB entries.

D3s, 500mm + 1.4TC, f5.6, ISO 400, 1/2500th sec., full frame.

Great capture of a muskox in its harsh environment. I like the space. I wonder how it would look with more space above than below

I have shots of that, and another in portrait format - also with space above. They both look comfortable with these conventional comps but I find this one more interesting because it's slightly different but still conveys essentially the same message of desolation.
