Pu'uhonua o Honaunau - Island of Hawaii
a7R Mk II, 16-35@35mm, ISO 200, 5 bracketed exposures at f/9 "Imagine you had just broken the sacred laws, the kapu, and the only punishment was death. Your only chance of survival is to elude your pursuers and reach the Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, the place of refuge. The Pu'uhonua protected the kapu breaker, defeated warriors, as well as civilians during the time of battle. No harm could come to those who reached the boundaries of the place of refuge." This is now a National Historic Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. Text above in quotes above adapted from the National Park Service website for this location. E.J. Peiker http://www.EJPhoto.com
