In October of 1997, Kent Clegg in his ultralight guided a mixed flock of Sandhill and Whooping Cranes from Idaho to Bosque del Apache. It was the last attempt to start a flock of Whooping Cranes in this part of the Central Flyway. Between bobcats and eagles, the cranes were decimated in pretty short order.
