I know that most photographers have one of these images somewhere in their portfolio, so it was my turn the other day.  I took this image on Bon Secour Bay near Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Canon EOS 6D
17-40 mm L lens @ 17mm
f/16
15 sec
ISO 100

I focus-stacked three exposures for depth of field and then one for the sky.  I chose f/16 to get the look in the water that I wanted.

I like the soft (pastel colors), but lonely feel to this image. Your right about most photographers having an image similar to this. It's simply an eyecatcher for the photographers eye, even if you shoot mostly wildlife or birds. Mine is a B&W slide (Scala film) at the Flight Deck at Bosque!

Beautiful image
Love the silky water and pastel colours
Maybe not original
But so well done
I say it's pretty difficult to be original but an excellent image is still to be congratulated

Beautiful soft colors, and the dock makes an excellent lead in. Well done.

Great symmetry with nice shapes and colors in the sky.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

There's a reason why, though, isn't there. Lovely calming image.
