The Perch Rock Lighthouse at New Brighton (UK) had attracted a large number of photographers for the end of day show, but I was surprised by how many had left before the twilight painted the scene is a soft pink light...

Apart from dropping my Lee filter holder, with 3 Stop ND and 1 1/2 Stop Grad into the sea - it was a good evening :-)

Gorgeous image -- I love the reflection and way the arc of pastel cloud leads the eye to the tip of the lighthouse. Simple and effective (sorry about the wet ND filter -- no harm done I hope?)

Thanks Gary. Yes no harm done - a careful wash to get the sand off and they all look fine.

I can certainly see why it attracts many photographers. The warm peachy tones within the image really appeal to me, the build on the far shore that is creeping in from the right slightly detracts from a well executed image.

Thanks Peter. The building creeping in from the right is the Port Harbour tower (I think) and I considered cropping it out, but was unsure. Taking it out is cleaner, but I then felt it lost a bit of tension having it sitting there just on the edge; almost as somewhere to go to past the lighthouse But I expect it is better out than in as maybe it is too close to the edge - just not sure.
