Nevada's birthday is October 31st and, as every year, the festivities will be topped by a big parade that passes about as close as 100 feet from this memorial. Yet, never have I seen a wreath, flowers or any other form of appreciation displayed here and that makes me wonder how many people are aware of it.

This year's birthday is the 150th and everything will be larger and more exiting. So I am curious if that includes a few moments to thank and honor those who gave their lives so we can enjoy ours in safety.

Crafted this morning at the Capitol Grounds in Carson City.

A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

A nice shot of a great memorial Jens -- it looks like you were enjoying a terrific fall day too!
