Another one of this amazing place from a trip yesterday - this one with a wider angle to capture more of the roof.
Gary - yes, I think you're about right with the question about the timbers. The sheer amount of wood in this building is fairly staggering; it seems very well managed by the Natural Trust, sensitively restoring as necessary. Here's the webpage: http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/great-coxwell-barn/ I'd have liked to have got some exterior shots at some point, but some restoration work is going on on the grounds around the outside, and I haven't managed the right time to visit. Nikon D800E/Zeiss 21mm ISO 200 0.4" f/7.1 Full res here. Both versions are 1200px and worth looking at against a dark background. Since it's very dark inside with no arficial lights (thank goodness - many wood-timbered interiors are ruined for photogaphs this way), white balance is a bit of a personal preference. I've chosen to warm these shots up a bit - the natural colour of the oak is a bit more grey than you see here. Cheers, D EDIT: I've now updated with the full-width version. |
