Great shot of summertime on the farm back when --- this also would look really good with a B/W vintage treatment.

A very nice image of an Amish family working the land. I always enjoy my trips to Lancaster and one can't help but marvel at the clean and well attended farm land. Just love the 2 mule power tractor :)

Nice shot. Interesting how most Amish refuse to use tobacco but all are eager to grow it, putting others peoples health at risk, for cash. Those Amish who do use smoke cigars and chew tobacco because cigarettes are to "worldly".

Love your images of the Amish Steve. This is another wonderful one. The different layers are graphic and make some good composition. I didn't know they grew tobacco.

Paul - they grow a lot of tobacco, esp this year. It brings a good price for them and the kids they have are needed when they plant it and then when they harvest it. Steve

Paul - very few of them smoke around here and I don't think I've seen any of them smoke a pipe. They smoke something that looks similar to what Josie Wales smoked :) Not sure about the other Amish communities. Never seen a woman smoke anything.

Ahhhhhh....... Josie Wales....Just watched The good, bad, and ugly again the other day....Hard to believe it's been so many years now..(1966). It came to mind because we just lost Eli Wallach who played the infamous beloved character "Tuco" in that one. He did such a fine job....
