I think this is ugly and beautiful all at once. The current drought conditions are intense. The grass is a different kind of dry and brittle. It almost explodes into dust when you touch it.

I was going to say I liked the brown California hills. But Indiana, ouch! Nice comp and beautiful clouds.

Not sure how to take this because this area is in the midst of the worst drought in ages. But, to your point, I'm certain that the locals side with your sentiment.
